It’s positioned for morning routines and casual entertaining: poured over ice at weekend brunch, added to a cocktail shaker as a low-calorie mixer, or packed for long drives and errands as a lighter alternative to soda. The Ocean Spray brand carries a heritage association with New England fruit growers and mainstream American households, marketed toward calorie-conscious adults and caregivers who want a familiar, fruity option without sugar. The label leans on health-forward cues — “diet,” low calories, and added Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) — plus “natural flavor” claims, but it is not organic and carries no child-focused graphics. Sensory experience is thin and watery compared with straight juice: a pale pink, lightly viscous liquid with a tangy grapefruit bite, a pronounced sweet edge from artificial sweeteners, and a clean, slightly medicinal finish; there’s typically no pulp. Packaging is a large PET jug with a screw cap and pour-spout, intended for repeated use at home; ritual use is communal — poured into glasses at breakfast, mixed into mocktails, or sipped from the car cupholder. In plain terms, this is a highly processed flavored juice drink formulated with sweeteners, stabilizers, acids, and colorants to deliver consistent taste and long shelf life. ## Diet flags - Vegan - Vegetarian - Gluten-free - Dairy-free ## Nutrition - **Serving size:** 8 - **Servings per container:** 8 - **Calories:** 5 - **Total fat:** 0g (0% DV) - **Saturated fat:** 0g (0% DV) - **Sodium:** 30mg (1% DV) - **Total carbs:** 2g (1% DV) - **Total sugars:** 1g - **Protein:** 0g ## Ingredients Filtered Water, Grapefruit Juice (Water, Grapefruit Juice Concentrate), Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Pectin, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Fumaric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sucralose, Vegetable Concentrate for Color, Gum Arabic, Acesulfame Potassium, Ester Gum, Beta-Carotene for Color. ## Flagged ingredients - **Acesulfame Potassium** (emulsifier): Processed emulsifier - **Ester Gum** (emulsifier): Processed emulsifier ## Context tags - **Occasions:** weekend-brunch, road-trip, post-workout - **Vibes:** convenient, practical, nostalgic ## FAQ ### Is Diet Ruby Grapefruit healthy?
